Shrimper’s Rest

It’s satisfying to see the boats come in and dock after a honest days work. The rest comes after all the aftermath of unloading, cleaning, and double checking everything is secure. We’re grateful for the fisherman.

This original oil painting is available at the King Street Art Center part of the Freedman Art District, Beaufort, SC.

Take a stroll on this low country dirt road engulfed with the oak trees with the Spanish moss clinging to the branches as you walk towards the light. You can feel the peaceful solitude with each step. It’s a southern thing.

This painting follows my Romeo and Juliet and Shakespeare so it seemed fitting to name her Cleopatra. The reflections is what captured my interest. The mirror image and water ripples felt poetic, hence the literature names. I’m completely fascinated with the Rosette Spoonbill.

This one started as part of the #stradaeasel Day16;a sweet day of Plein Air. I witnessed this couple’s special moment in there special spot while blocking this in. Hence the name “The Proposal”. They wanted to buy it and requested that I incorporate the date. I’m grateful and honored to be part of this happy time.

A local favorite is found at Gay’s Shrimp Company. We watch for the vessels traveling through the creeks to bring us the taste of the south, because we know after the run we get to enjoy the sweet South Carolina soul food.

Barefoot in the Dunes
Oil on Canvas, 8" x 10"

“Barefoot in the Dunes” captures the simple joy of stepping into a world shaped by sun, sand, and sea breeze. A winding path cuts through soft, grassy dunes, leading the eye toward the shoreline just beyond. Warm coastal light dances across the sandy trail, inviting viewers to leave the flip flops behind and get your toes in the sand.
