“The Keeper of Ten” captures a familiar coastal sentinel—a pelican poised confidently atop buoy number 10 near Harbor Island. With a quiet authority, the bird surveys the surrounding waters, embodying both patience and watchfulness in a scene that feels timeless to those who know the rhythm of the coast.

“Leap of Faith” captures a fleeting, exhilarating moment as a roseate spoonbill lifts gracefully from the marsh, wings unfurling in a radiant sweep of soft pinks and luminous whites. The bird’s elegant form cuts through a backdrop of vertical grasses, their earthy greens and golden tones creating a sense of depth and quiet stillness—just before it’s broken by motion.

This playful oil painting celebrates the humble oyster with a burst of imagination and color. Created for an oyster-themed contest hosted by the Fripp Island Art Guild, the piece transforms a familiar shell into a vibrant, almost magical subject. Swirls of lavender, teal, blush pink, and soft gold ripple across its surface, giving the oyster an iridescent glow that feels both whimsical and full of personality.

This one started as part of the #stradaeasel Day16;a sweet day of Plein Air. I witnessed this couple’s special moment in there special spot while blocking this in. Hence the name “The Proposal”. They wanted to buy it and requested that I incorporate the date. I’m grateful and honored to be part of this happy time.

Soft light drifts across a tranquil coastal marsh as winding waterways weave through golden grasses under a pastel sky. The warmth of early morning or late afternoon bathes the landscape in gentle hues, while a solitary shorebird perches quietly among the vivid red blooms of a bottlebrush tree, adding a delicate focal point. The painting captures a peaceful, almost timeless moment—where land, water, and sky blend in harmony, inviting the viewer to pause and breathe in the stillness of nature.

Echoes Between the Trees

11 x 14 Oil Painting

This striking palette-knife painting captures a serene birch forest rendered in cool violet, lavender, and blue tones. Thick, expressive strokes create a richly textured surface, giving the tree trunks and foliage a sculptural presence. Flecks of green and yellow foliage add warmth and movement, drawing the eye upward through the canopy. The vertical rhythm of the birch trunks combined with the bold impasto technique gives the piece a dynamic yet calming atmosphere.

Oil on Canvas, 8" x 10"

“Barefoot in the Dunes” captures the simple joy of stepping into a world shaped by sun, sand, and sea breeze. Warm coastal light dances across the sandy trail, inviting viewers to leave the flip flops behind and get your toes in the sand.
